The House of Love

We humans are only limited by the house in which we choose to dwell. We may dwell in a house of fear. Or, we may dwell in a house of love. In the house of fear, everything is suspect, everyone is a potential enemy, and God is a judge only. In the house of love, we experience true intimacy with God in ways that transcend our nature. In this house of love, we may come to a new level of vocational clarity:

The intimacy of the house of love always leads to solidarity with the weak. The closer we come to the heart of the One who loves us with an unconditional love, the closer we come to each other in the solidarity of a redeemed humanity.
--Henri Nouwen in Life Signs: Intimacy
